I participated in my first-ever DFIR CTF. It was such a challenging experience.
I have been a long time enjoyer of TheDFIRReport, and the conclusion I came with is that everything they put their hands on just turns out GOOD. I am learning in a matter of hours what normally takes weeks/months to learn organically, and I am always improving in the ranks as well. If you are interested in DFIR/Investigations - just use their CTFs, they are the absolute best public resource out there.
The labs and CTFs put out by the team at the DFIR Report are the best out there especially for the price they charge.
I love that they're based on real life incidents and they're extremely well organised.
I'd have liked a bit more time on this one as I was just getting into a good rhythm but just like in real life, you're against the clock and have limited time. Highly recommended.
This is the first time I've participated in a CTF that felt like I was actually responding to an incident, racing against time and swimming in logs, it was really worth it.
